Attraction Introduction

The Forbidden City, formerly known as the Purple Forbidden City, is located at the center of Beijing's central axis. It was the imperial palace of China's Ming and Qing dynasties and is one of the largest and best-preserved wooden structure ancient buildings in the world. With over 9,000 halls and rooms, it is magnificent and resplendent, known as the "Sea of Palaces."

Travel Tips

Recommended visit duration is 3-4 hours. Follow the central axis -> East Six Palaces -> West Six Palaces route. Peak season has heavy crowds, book tickets in advance, wear comfortable shoes, and protect yourself from the sun.
